Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the recovery process after knee and hip replacement surgery?
Patients are usually assisted to stand and walk with a physiotherapist the day after surgery. Independent walking is typically achieved within 3 to 4 weeks, with a full return to daily activities in about 6 weeks.
Does a meniscus tear always require surgery?
No. Depending on the tear’s severity, location, patient age, and activity level, conservative methods such as rest, medication, injections, and physical therapy are tried first. Minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery is considered for mechanical locking and persistent pain.
